Hi, i have a question (realy not one.. ), how do i add a user (and other

stuff, like list all users and change information in one account) to the

imail-server with .net code?

Do the code need to run at the mailserver, or can i just send command
over/to a ip-port (if so, someone have a def-list of the commands?) ?

Or, maybe someone already have done a web-service that do this, and want
to
share ;D

Good morning,

I have not really heard anything from anyone (this might be a good
thing) who has done a full version upgrade from 6.05 to 7.14 (not just
the hotfix/patch)

Any issues I should know about before I take the plunge?

TIA,

I just did a 6.06 to 7.13 upgrade and my primary domain uses Emerald
external database (which has its own set of config issues). The entire
process of upgrading took approximately 6 minutes, including re-boot,
and it
couldn't have gone smoother!! I used the imailec.exe version 7.13. I
opted
to not enable spell check or calendaring though, which could be done
later,
just to be on the safe side.

Does anyone have any examples on using a web page for
visitors to sign up for a mailing list. I am using an
ISP to host my web site so do not have direct access
to the server system and can only upload web pages to
the server.

  Hello Gerald Drown;
Do you have a Mail Server????
There is an easy way using ASP. That we use for all of our mailing list
and contact pages.
In the method that we use, you would have to find out if your "ISP" has
the following?
jMail <-- this must be installed on the server
.asp <-- must be able to host ASP pages.

Once you have found that out, I can let you know more on how to do it.
What we run here is the following:

User signs up | Recives Confirmation email | must click on link and then

re-type in there
Information again, | <-- This makes sure that it is ther person's e-mail

address.
Before being allowed to join the mailing list.

For all those that would like to test this out.
Please click on the link below. I will go in and remove the address's
out
sometime tomorrow, so that you all to not get a list of "Delphi
Programming"
Stuff in :-)

http://delphi.carrz-fox-fire.com/EmailList/Confirm.asp

This took me quite a while to set this thing up. And the scripts I
origianlly designed
for an "ISP" locally here in my town, for $10.00 Plus 3 months of free
internet access.
For my old Business Dialup Server Account. So, I would have to ask for
something
a donation or something. Like maybe "$5.00" and that would give you the
entire
source code. Not allot, Just something,

The one that I have here also has a "Guidelines" that the "User
Visitor" can read before they
joining the list, of which I am going to make it to where the user has
to read before.
Submitting there email address. But that is not going to be worked on
for several months.

Take Care and let me know how you like

It is not nothing over here, Everything is running great.

I see what John was talking about. I went to

from your origional post and then went to the posting from John

John just go to the top link, confirm.asp not Confirmation.asp and it
worked for me.

Me too. But the page isn't blank - you can select this invisible text on
it:

  jmail.SMTPMail error '8000ffff'

  The message was undeliverable.
All servers failed to receive the message

  /EmailList/Confirmation.asp

I'm guessing the servers won't relay to a non-local address.

Tried it, got a quick error page (to fast for me to read) then was
redirected to
http://delphi.carrz-fox-fire.com/EmailList/Confirmation.asp

I just tried it and also got the blank page. Except I figured out it
isn't really blank. It prints
an error message but it can't normally be read because of the
background.

The error message is:

jmail.SMTPMail error '8000ffff'

The message was undeliverable. All servers failed to receive the message

/EmailList/Confirmation.asp, line 12

That should help you figure out the problem :-)

I have a client that would like a softer, kinder message to be delivered
to her members when they generate a subscription request to a private
list. I see the autoresponse is generated by imailsrv.exe, and was
wondering if an easy workaround exists, an add-on like decludes
confirm.eml, or an attempt to include a feature like subscrib.txt for
open lists will be implimented?

Duh, thanks Ron, I totally forgot to look at source of page.

This is the error page.

Does look like a relay issue.

Wayne, if I put in your e-mail address, it works. :))

I am using Imail 7.13 and MS Access. I have setup a testing server and
I'm
noticing dramatic performance issues when using MS Access with a
database
password. Has anyone else come across this problem? There is currently
only
3 users in the DB. I setup the ODBC and in the Imail Administrative
Panel
where it asks for the DSN I have included the username and pw. i.e.
imail;
UID=; PWD=seth. POP E-mails seems to be fine, but its the webmail that
takes
forever. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Seth

Hello Ron Hornbaker

For some reason, my Mail server, decided it does not want to send out
mail through it.
I just got an email in from one of our other list subscribers, that
tried to get there friend signed up.
And it is not letting them sign up.
So this is not a script issue, it is a Mail Server issue,
I am trying to find the work around right now. Will let everyone know,
When it is fixed. I am testing it with my "Hotmail" Account. And once it

excepts.
Then I will send a new posting to the group.

So very sorry for this, But that it "Imail" For you :-)
Also. Could having "No Main Relay" Be an issue?
It never had anything to do with it before??

They do that sometimes.

Yes, I think you're on to something there. Try switching it to "Relay
for
addresses" and enter the IP address(es) of the webserver(s) where your
ASP
code is hosted.

I was able to capture the error which is displayed before being
redirected to the blank page. The error is:

jmail.SMTPMail error '8000ffff'

The message was undeliverable. All servers failed to receive the message

/EmailList/Confirmation.asp, line 13

Hope that helps,

I have two IMAP folders out of 6 in a users directory that are fairly
large
in size, and do not open or display on web mial, nor in Outlook. If I
use
mozilla, I receive errors opening them as well.

If I try to open them in the web interface I receive "Server process
interrupted due to user action!! Please press refresh button, and wait
for
some time.". error message. Usually I get this if I doulbe-click
something, but that isn't the case here.

Since there are obviously a lot of messages in these folders, is there a
way
to fix the corruption if they are indeed corrupted?

O.K. !!!!!!!!!!!
I am scared now, Shaking in my seat.
I have not scripts on non of my sites, that allow for people to send
mail out to
anyone, except but to me.
Contact Pages | Mailing List's
That is all.

Is there a way that people can work around the scripts and send spam
out?
If so, would I need to look in on protecting the pages better?

Subject: [IMail Forum] IE6 SP1 webmail attachment problem
Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hi,

I am using iMail server 7.07.

Webmail attachments like .doc (Microsoft Word) or .efx
(Efax) files can no longer be open or saved by using
Internet Explorer 6 SP1 (IE version 6.0.2800.1106).
Older version of IE6 works fine with webmail (IE
version 6.0.2600.0000). This seems unrelated to Java
(as mentioned in
http://216.239.51.100/search?q=cache:FduJ_UfXVlkC:support.ipswitch.com/k
b/IM-20021218-DM02.htm+ie6+sp1+imail&hl=en&ie=UTF-8)

Problem happens both with Win98 and Win2000. What
happens is that IE will no longer strip the HTTP
header, so the downloaded or opened binary file
contains the extra HTTP header information. If I strip
the header information by hand, the file seems all
right. Is there a quick fix on the Windows side? Or is
there a fix for iMail web messaging? Thanks.

Hung Jung
