It has been reliably reported that there are other means
for exploiting this buffer overflow other than using IIS
and WebDAV.

It is highly recommended that ALL windows 2000 systems be
updated with this patch.

Increased hacker activity is expected within the next 30 days.

Although this is a critical update for Windows 2000 servers that have IIS running, this should only affect servers running IIS. If that is *not* the case, please do point where this can be verified, as that would be much worse than what was previously discovered.


Anyone running IIS on Windows 2000, however, should go to the URL above ASAP if you have not already (this is the one that a hacker used to break into a U.S. military computer system).
