Our Imail server appears to function normally for all mail usage with the exception of a member of one of our alias groups whose address is on AOL.

Actually, the log file snippet shows something that is not unique to this specific E-mail/alias/group, but any E-mail you send to AOL.

20030326 103934 127.0.0.1 SMTP (1044) Connect aol.com [64.12.138.57:25] (1)

Here, you reach one of the AOL mailservers, but:

20030326 103934 127.0.0.1 SMTP (1044) rl-recv: connection reset

They disconnect immediately (before seeing anything about your E-mail). Most likely, they are having problems on their end. There is a slight chance they made a mistake and are blocking IPs before the session is started, which ends up causing a huge waste of bandwidth.

20030326 103934 127.0.0.1 SMTP (1044) requeuing D:\IMail\spool\Q279b8b8042c.GSC R0 T3

AOL has 4 MX records that all have the same preference value, so IMail tries one, and if it can't reach it, it will re-queue the E-mail.
