Is there a way to set one general rule for blocking .scr .pif and so on?

recent bugbears seems to have double extensions for the attachment, eg:

filname.doc.exe
filname.doc.pif

so you should be able to make an Imail rule.

The general policy is that all dangerous attachments are rejected.

Or is there a better solution to prevent this problem?

An SMTP anti-virus program. Of course, if you get a bad storm of bugbear crap pushing your traffic way up, then storm may overcome and DoS your SMTP AV service.

The best is to reject all such messages by the front-end MX machine before they can bother the mailbox server.
