Do you have the user DB's setup to be accessed via IMAP? (newer templates of
the Mail DB include this I think, but previous versions had to be updated to
support POP/IMAP).

Doing so is very simple. Search Lotus docs.

Either way, as Sandy said, IMAP-to-IMAP may be the easiest to move mail to
Imail.

If you're migrating a large number of users, and have to do it for them, try
looking at solutions that would take a Notes DB and convert it to UNIX
mailfile. UNIX mailfile to IMail is very easy (search KB):

Lotus -> UNIX mailfile -> Imail .mbx
Lotus -> Exchage, then Exchange -> Imail or Exchange -> UNIX mailfile ->
Imail .mbx
