Have a problem with IMail 7.15, smtp service. Very often it takes a very long time for the service to give me back the "prompt" "220 ESMTP ...". None of the other services(pop3, imap, ...) have problem with this.
Are you running 16-bit programs on the server (such as the DOS version of F-Prot along with Declude Virus)? If so, you may want to stop using the 16-bit programs and switch to 32-bit programs (such as the fpcmd.exe that comes with F-Prot).
For some reason, some servers have serious problems (like what you describe) when running 16-bit programs, for no apparent reason.
