We have 2 peers right now with the 3rd box being the linux box. We do not send all remote mail out through the gateway.. That just adds a hop that isn't needed in our case. The gateway handles incoming mail only, analyzes the username and sends it to the appropriate server for delivery... Mail between users on the same domain gets sent to the other server via the standard peering protocol. There's no need to send it out to the gateway.. When we add a 3rd box, it will be a peer server and we will move mailboxes from both existing servers to the new server to even out the load. We don't forsee needing an additional gateway yet.
