Microsoft's SMTP service can also be used for this purpose, running on
port  26  and forwarding local mail upstream to IMail on port 25. Note
that AUTH clients would need to be added separately to MS SMTP, unless
you are using the NT SAM for your IMail database.

If the users are comfortable using their ISP's SMTP, the ISP is proven
reliable  and  non-intrusive,  and  you  have  no contractual or legal
reasons  to be processing their mail yourself, by all means deflect it
onto other providers.
