True, IMail does not technically allow this character in usernames added through the built-in admin interfaces. However, the character is not actually rejected if it is used during the SMTP envelope, so you can therefore add an alias called "dummyuser," then edit the Registry value HKLM\Software\Ipswitch\IMail\Domains\<example.com>\Users\_aliases\dummyuser manually to read ...\dummy&user, et al. Note that I would not recommend trying to tweak the username itself, since such a username construction is far from standard on the Internet.
