Somewhat answered my own question, in that I found an ancient post in 
the archives 
(http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg42133.html). 
 I'd try the .dll linked, but we had to modify ours to work with MD5 
password hashes.  And since the linked site does not provide source code 
or info on what it did, I don't think I'd be able to get it to work 
without changing our DB to store plaintext plaintext passwords.  I tried 
changing the USERDIR field to a binary field, but that caused some 
problems.  Any ideas on how to get this to work with MySQL?  I'll look 
through some mySQL sources to see what I can come up with.
