The first thing I would do is look at my logfiles to make sure that the
blacklists and rules you have implemented are working at all. I had a
problem with the blacklists not catching ANY of my spam when I first
installed Imail 8.0. The problem turned out to be a misconfigured router,
which was somehow preventing the lookups from even being made. When the
blacklists were unreachable, all of the spam simply passed through the
system untouched.

You will never be able to stop ALL spam. No matter what you do, spammers are
going to come up with some new trick that lasts awhile, until technology
catches up with them. The important thing right now is to figure out WHY the
spam is getting through. Before you look to any third-party software, make
sure that the software you have is actually doing what it is supposed to be
doing. I am not against third-party software. Just make sure you are getting
your money's worth from the features built-in to Imail before you add
another level of complexity to the equation. That means checking your logs
to see that blackmail lookups are being made, and if they are deleting or
tagging messages like they are supposed to. I would also take some spam that
you KNOW should be caught by your rules and try testing it against the rules
filter for a true/false test.

Fighting spam can be a full-time job, even for the smallest of providers. It
is just as much an art as a science though. Look to your logfiles. They
should inspire you. :-)
