Hi Dan

I've similar problems if the client connects over a relative slow dialup
line (64k) that is under heavy trffic load.

This can cause long delays between following TCP packets.
I've found out that the 10054 errors will appear if the delay is longer
then around 7000 milliseconds for both SMTP and POP3 connections.

I think also that it's not a HW or OS specific problem because in the
same time I'm able to send and recieve from the same server (IIS W3SVC
and FTPSVC) without any problem. I tried also to start the MS SMTPSVC on
a different port and connect from the client side. No problem. 

Until now no solution  :-(
