This is running version 8.03 and I had already disabled "DNS Cache" and "Failed Domain skipping" based on previous messages here.
Re: Declude - in the pre-Imail 8.0x days, when mail delivery slowed or stopped, you could check the overflow folder. If there were any files sitting there, it was a good indication of a problem; either someone on the inside was spamming, there were DNS problems, or one of the DNS blocklists were malfunctioning. So I wrote a script to monitor the overflow folder for an early alert of problems. Since I saw my first spool backlog with 8.03, I can now confirm that the overflow folder isn't used, and it's no longer useful to look in the overflow folder when diagnosing delivery problems. > After about 3 weeks with no problem, the Queue manager hung and 1000's of > messages began accumulating in the spool directory. Do you have either of the options "DNS Cache" or "Failed Domain Skipping" selected under Queue Manager in the IMail Aministrator? If so, you may want to try disabling both. We experienced the same kinds of issues when we had these enabled, and since disabling a couple of months ago, have not experienced any queue related problems since. > (Note to Declude users - an overloaded/blocked queue will not show up in > the overflow folder any longer.
