I just discovered that the IMAIL disk was fairly full. If the disk fills
up would it cause Blank messages? Your comment regarding the D*.SMD
files makes me think perhaps if these files could not have been created
due to disk space being low...it may be the culprit.

Well some of your assumptions were correct (sort of), but I'm not sure
that is my problem.

1. NO, we dont have mailserver antivirus
2 YES, There is a desktop scanner on that machine...
3. BUT the directory that IMAIL is in is excluded from the A/V scans.
   (I just double checked that)
4. The AV software Does not show having caught any viruses lately

I thought (correct me if I am wrong) that the exclusion mentioned in #3
would prevent problems as you described.

Any other thoughts?

-Jim

Let me guess, you don't have any mailserver AV software, but you are
running a desktop scanner?

Desktop scanners are a bad idea -- some will catch no viruses in mail,
most
will catch some viruses, but few (if any) will catch all. When they do
catch the viruses, they may simply delete the D*.SMD file, causing the
behavior you experienced. If they catch the E-mail in an .mbx file,
though, *poof* all your mail will disappear.
