I am working on an Imail 7.07 server that is swamped. One thing I am noticing is a lot of postmaster bounce messages are being generated because of full or max message count mail boxes.
Why is Imail receiving the message, having it processed (by Declude) and then seeing either the mail box is full or max number of messages is there, then creating a bounce, which then has to be processed and sent? Why not check during the SMTPD to see if the recipient is valid, does the mail box have room, and is it under the allowed message size? Has this behavior changed in 8.0x? (The server will be upgraded to 8.03 pending a resolution of a ODBC issue.)
