O.K. I'm going to try and explain how I am set up, and beat me with a
stick if I am wrong :)....

Our domain areatech.com is served up by 2 name servers
ns1/ns2.areatech.com:

Primary NS: ns1.areatech.com

The areatech.com domain has an mx record that points to
mail.areatech.com:

areatech.com MX (Mail Exchanger) Priority: 10 mail.areatech.com

Mail.areatech.com has an A record that points to the mail server IP:

mail.areatech.com A (Address) 66.140.194.140

>From what I am gathering, you all are telling me that my A record for
areatech.com should point to my mail server? It currently points to my
web server, and I then have a Cname set up to point to that A record.
If I am wrong here, then why does dnsreport not red flag me, and more to
the point, can you specify what RFCs I am not following?

Thanks a ton!

Jason
