That's too bad.  I wrote a simple C program using STDIN/STDOUT, but of
course that did not work.  I was hoping to keep everything on the save web
server.  Now it sounds like I will have to submit to a separate web server
(IIS) to obtain the XML.

No.

It's something that Ipswitch could probably add very easily, and could 
extend IMail's functionality quite a bit, but isn't there (yet?).
