Ok, in looking at the log file, I found it is not JUST verizon.net. Here is an example, they almost always look like the following:
20031117 171339 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (03E5025A) [192.168.1.9] connect 64.73.33.68 port 26520
Please go to http://www.declude.com/info/logs.htm . This is *not* outgoing E-mail. It's incoming E-mail.
20031117 171339 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (03E5025A) [64.73.33.68] EHLO madex2.cygnuspub.com
20031117 171339 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (03E5025A) [64.73.33.68] bogus address in MAIL FROM:<>
This is occurring because Ipswitch included a silly option "Refuse NULL <> Senders" without (until v8) going into detail as to why you should NEVER check that box. If you UNcheck the box, it will fix these log file entries (and help ensure that you don't get listed at the http://www.rfc-ignorant.org spam database).
