Katie,

You might look at a dell poweredge 6400 quad xeon 700 cpu's with about 8
gigs of ram. It would leave room for 64bit bus upgrades to .Net (native I
believe for this hardware)

I've seen them on ebay for example for about 5k

Subject: [IMail Forum] Hardware recommendations?

Within the next week or two we will be purchasing a new mail server. Due to
budget constraints that might be a refurbished server. However, while we do
want to be economical, we do not wish to under-buy.

Current average stats:

ldeliver: 22,000
rdeliver: 5,000

We host about 120 domains, growing daily.
We are using Imail 8.04.
We are currently running Declude Junkmail Pro.
We will purchase Declude Antivirus.
We will turn on Imail Antispam.

We will most likely be staying with W2K (although there is still some debate
there).

What would recommendations for a reasonably robust server be--allowing for
growth? Maybe recommendations if we double, triple or quadruple our volume?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Katie
