What  do  the logs say (you should always look there first)? Are there
lines  that  read  "FAILED  authentication" for the affected users (if
not, the problem is not on your server)?

What  kind  of  userbase are you using? If ODBC, are you sure that the
connection  is  intact?  Are  there any corresponding errors with POP3
auth?
