Hi Situation: A web server that sends e-mail as part of various processes can't connect to mail server.
Used to work, something changed, can't figure out what or why. Another web server, identical in every way to this one, also load balanced, works fine. I've rebooted both machines. Using Relay Mail for Addresses. Both machines' addresses are in list. Mail Server: IMAIL 8.04/ all patches / Declude stuff (but that's not even getting touched). Web Server: WIN 2003 IIS6 / Cold Fusion 5 / Load Balanced using win2003 load balancing. Symptoms: Telnet from Web Server to Mail Server: Get "220 Welcome Message", "Connection to host lost" Logs (tried 5 times quickly, log setting verbose / debug): 20031216 092504 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (00340116) [mail server ip] connect (web server load balanced ip) port 1674 20031216 092506 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (00150106) [mail server ip] connect (web server load balanced ip) port 1675 20031216 092508 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (00370116) [mail server ip] connect (web server load balanced ip) port 1676 20031216 092510 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (0078010A) [mail server ip] connect (web server load balanced ip) port 1677 20031216 092511 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (007A010A) [mail server ip] connect (web server load balanced ip) port 1678 Not sure what to do, where to look next. Pointers welcomed.
