Anyone know of a good DNS service avaliable on the net for companies to use?
I have experience with UltraDNS ( http://www.ultradns.com ) and EasyDNS ( http://www.easydns.com ), and both have proven to be very good. UltraDNS, as the name implies, is arguably the best DNS outsourcing there is (they handle the zone files for several TLDs) -- but at a significant cost. EasyDNS is reasonably priced ($20/year/domain), and I have never experienced or heard of any problems with them.
There are others out there as well, some good and some bad. For a quick estimate of how good a DNS outsourcing company may be, you can enter their web site into the DNS timing tool at http://www.DNSstuff.com . The results may occasionally vary, and a bad score isn't usually a terrible thing, but it can provide clues as to how good the outsourcing company is.
