Yes there are Q Files in the overflow directory, and D files in the Spool
Directory
The first 3 things to do here are check that [1] your virus scanner is working properly (are there lots of error messages in the Declude Virus log file?), that [2] your DNS server is working properly (the first DNS server listed in the IMail SMTP settings needs to be responding accurately and without dropping packets), and that [3] you aren't running any dead spam tests (spammers killed off a number of spam tests at the end of last year; using them could delay your E-mail).
