Seems I was the only one interested in this.. :-) Are there really no other norwegian imail-admins on this list?
Anyway, the response I got from Ipswitch themselves was that this feature has been requested, and may be implemented at a later time. How do you people cope in the meantime? Are there any third-party utils that could remedy this? - Eric -----Opprinnelig melding----- Fra: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] vegne av Eric Carr Sendt: 9. februar 2004 16:20 Til: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Emne: [IMail Forum] National characters in domain names (IDN) ? Hi, the norwegian (.no) TLD registrar will support registration of national characters in domain names from this week, using the IDN/ACE standard. (For those of you unfamiliar with these standards: they are based on letting server and client software translate domain names to standard ascii with ACE before resolving them, so that DNS doesn't need to understand special characters. There are RFC's describing this in detail). Imail currently supports a-z A-Z 0-9 .-_ in domain names. .com/.net domains has been supporting these standards for a while now, so i suppose some of you have touched this issue. How do you handle these domains in Imail?
