We  have  used  Mark  Russionvich's  TCPView for years to observe live
connections  to  our  IMail  server and webservers, but there is a new
version  which  auto-updates  nicely and shows new sockets and closing
sockets in colored displays. This is a free utility that is one of the
most  useful ever. Just load it up and watch connections (with reverse
lookups)  to  SMTP, POP3, IMAP, HTTP, etc. If you are getting hit hard
by  spammers,  you can also load this up to see the IPs and reverse on
them for making firewall entries. Really great.
