Yes, you can. It is a setting in the SMTP service through the Imail Admin Panel. You can choose to either send all outgoing mail through the gateway...or send it through the gateway after it fails to go after a set # of tries on the Imail box. I do this for AV scanning, but I have not tried this for content filtering.
