This is what I came up with: A Blacklist, also known as a DNSBL is a list of know internet IP addressed known to be the origin of email considered as spam. Most blacklists are end user driven, and will list an IP address once a certain of abuse reports have been received. The Beach Computers Spam protection system utilizes these lists to keep known Spam from reaching your inbox.
What do you think? This is purely for end users, and I didn't want to use too many terms to overwhelm them. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dave Riddle Sent: Tuesday, March 16, 2004 1:01 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] DNSBL/RBL descripotion How about: http://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/sbl-faqs.lasso At 10:53 PM 3/15/2004, you wrote: >Does anyone know where I can find a quick DNSBL/RBL description to >provide my end users in an FAQ? > >Thanks > > > > > >To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html >List Archive: >http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ >Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
