Hope this doesn't get to confusing for anyone, but it's a strange situation. We have IMail as an inbound/outbound gateway for our Exchange boxes. The naming convention is [EMAIL PROTECTED] and we want to make sure that nothing gets to Exchange that isn't to an address of that naming convention, so basically, if it hits IMail and it isn't addressed to [EMAIL PROTECTED] we want it blocked. We currently have in place the following rule:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:[EMAIL PROTECTED] This does exactly what it is supposed to, however it does it to well. These forum messages for example, get picked off by that rule, because the from is [EMAIL PROTECTED] and the to address is [EMAIL PROTECTED] The only time [EMAIL PROTECTED] shows up is in the x-rcpt-to line, which to my understanding is written post rules processing (right?). The same holds true for any message in which my user name is in the BCC field of the envelope. This rule in itself actually catches more "accurate" spam than the anti-spam filters, due to the nature of the emails that people in the company receive, so removing the rule is not a very viable option. I have spoken with, in my opinion, one of the most knowledgeable techs at Ipswitch and we came to the decision that this could not be done to a good degree of accuracy. So now I will enlist the creativity of the forum to see what other ideas we can come up with to make this work. Feel free to contact me on or off the list in regards.
