The upgrade is pretty smooth. Stop all the IMail services prior to upgrading to avoid a reboot. Back up your users data (just a CYA idea) and run the patch, restart services and you are done.

Are their any helpful docs to walk through the upgrade, does it require a reboot at all? Thanks again for your help! This list rocks. -Jason -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Herschel Jones (Industries - Augusta) Sent: Monday, April 12, 2004 4:53 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Ok, please don't laugh too hard - disable Anti- Spam Well before anyone else says it, you might want to try upgrading to at least 8.03, 8.05 preferably as I've read some...well, not so nice things about 8.1 so far. I can tell you myself that this hasn't been a problem on my 8.01 upgraded to 8.05 installation. I turn it on and off a few times a week looking for a "good combination". -HJ -----Original Message----- From: Nadon, Jason [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, April 12, 2004 4:30 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: [IMail Forum] Ok, please don't laugh too hard - disable Anti-Spam Hi All, As I searched IMail Support and these forums for the answer to this question - I found everyone doing the exact opposite - looking for answers to BLOCK spam... which makes sense to me... but here's my twisted situation anyway... We use Imail to host our customers email and we've had several requests / issues with getting email from domains which are being marked as spammers such as coupons.com. We used to have the Anti-Spam feature on and I realize that it moves the spam into the root-bulk folder (we're using a 1 IP and all virtual host setup) for safe keeping, not bothering our customers which such useless mail... I thought this was working great... Well... then we'd received complaints from customers that they aren't getting the email that has been deemed as spam... - apparently they really want those emails from coupons.com and coupondiscounts.com and ireallylovecoupons.com... so about a month ago, I disabled the anti-spam features, at our customers request expecting to unleash a *spam demon* of unbelievable proportions (we've collected over 2GB of SPAM data in approx 7 months... there are 200 domains on our server with approx 5 users each) upon our customer base. However, the content filtering seems to still be taking place as the log files show that with each message it's checking for spam content and then if found still redirecting to the bulk folder. I've looked in the IMail Support section and just found a item that said restart SMTP and the Queue Manager to have the settings take effect... but I've done this.. many times and it hasn't had any change. I'm running on v8.00 on a Windows 2003 server. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated and I apologize if I missed this being answered in another email post to the forum... I just couldn't find it. Jason J Nadon MCP | CIW | Certified Flash MX Developer Web Builder Administrator Creative Solutions | A Thomson Company 734.426.5860 x3636 "workin' more web than Spider-Man!"
