I was rather frustrated - we were running very smooth for quite some time,

The problem here is that the brackets now mean "any characters in 
here".  Since the subject contains the letter "o" (one of the characters in 
"[Possible Spam]"), it gets caught by the rule.

Don't ask me why Ipswitch did that -- we wouldn't make a huge (and 
potentially devastating) change like that without making it VERY clear that 
we were doing so.
