Not to expose my ignorance too much... but I didn't know that I had to leave
something listening on port 25 - thanks for letting me know I probably
would've just changed it.
http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19981118-DD01.htm just mentions that you
can change it, not to make sure something is listening - though the article
refers to a virus scanner on 25.

I was asking if there were any issues if you change from 25 to 26. I saw
one article that said that the SMTP monitoring service in IMAIL didn't work
properly when switched (I didn't see a solution posted either). I was
looking for issues along those lines, Imail issues, clients that don't play
well on a port other than 25, etc. Telling all my users will be my problem
with its own issues, but those were not the issues I was concerned about.

I'm still wondering if anyone is willing to share how they are handling
this.

Thanks - Marc

You can't change it over fully, since _something_ needs to be
listening on 25 (but maybe you knew that).

"All the users" is way too ambiguous for anyone to respond to that.
Changing "all the users" in a 250-user office is different from "all
the users" in a 25-users-per-domain, 10-domain hosting environment.
You're going to know best.
