The static IP address assigned on the DSL has to be different than the
static IP address assigned on the ISDN if both are up and running at the
same time. Therefore, given that, you need to be sure that your DNS
settings for your domain MX record are properly set to the new IP address
you have set up on the DSL circuit.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Error 10054

The environment:

1. We have a client that hosts their own mail server 2. They have been
connected via a dual channel ISDN line with dedicated IP 3. Just connected a
DSL line with a different dedicated IP 4. Same telco provider so the DNS
settings (on the local systems and the local server will not change)

The issue:

Right now both the IDSN line and the DSL are connected. The workstations
are surfing through the DSL line, but when I change the gateway address of
the server to point it out the DSL we get Error 10054 in the logs and no
mail goes out. Simply changing the gateway back to the ISDN line and the
mail flows and there are no errors.

Possible Resolution:

Am I right in thinking that as soon as we tell the telco (they are providing
DNS service) to cut the domain over to the IP on the DSL that this problem
will go away?

Thanks!
