Dear Lee:

I also had that problem.  I have solved it placing dns of the people who give service me of Internet, still being I direct ISP with my own DNS.  I can assure to you that it works.  In addition to your dns, pon in the first place the IP of dns of your supplier.

I wait for noticas yours

Regards.

Scott,

Thanks for the advice....Discovered from the logs, that the reason why mail
wasn't getting to these people is because the restore used had our settings
as an open relay.  So people had us blocked very quickly.

This is sorted now, but I'm still having problems to one user:

20040604 163930 127.0.0.1       SMTPD (00000808) Authenticated

20040604 163953 127.0.0.1       SMTP (3160) MX connect fail "61.8.3.192"

Can't figured where this MX record is coming from, can you help?

Many thanks,

Lee

Unfortunately, these log file entries could either be good (meaning that
the problem is on their end) or bad (meaning a problem on your end).

What you will need to do is look for the other log file entries with the
same process identifier (2936 for one of the two E-mails, 3712 for the
other).  If you look at the previous log file entries, it will show the
domain that IMail is trying to send to.  From that, you can figure out if
IMail is trying to send to the correct IPs (to help rule out a DNS problem,
or an IMail issue).  Assuming that IMail is sending to the correct IP(s),
you'll need to do some investigating to figure out the problem.  Is it
happening with a few domains, most domains, or all domains?  Can you
connect to those IPs on port 25 from a telnet client on the IMail server?
