Does that work even if you don't have SMTP security set to Relay Mail For Addresses? We have it set to Relay for local users only.
You're about to get a flood of responses here, but the answer is "Relay for local users" isn't an option for any purpose (it lets spammers use your mailserver for free). You must use "Relay for addresses" or "No mail relay".
