I have taken over an IMail 7.07 server on a Windows 2000 Server. Two 8.5GB hard disks are installed in this server. IMail was originally setup with one partition on one drive and uses the same partition as the system. The second drive was added to copy backups of the mailboxes.
The server handles around 400 or 500 mailboxes and is filling up the system partition. Does anybody have any suggestions of how I could best use the second drive if I stop using it for backups of the mailboxes? Could I change the spool folder to sit on the second drive? Could I compress the folders on the C:\ drive to save space (using NTFS file compression)? Will this kill the performance?
