Hi,

I am running 8.12 on a NT box and I am getting intermittent
rl-recv: Blocking call cancelled in the log files.

This is only occuring when sending email to yahoo.com and happens maybe 1 in 25 times.
We are sending about 10,000 individual emails to our members with yahoo email
addresses in about a 6 hour period and a total of about 100,000 individual emails in
total. Based upon my review of the archives,
it seems like the imail server is waiting 4 minutes and then gives up rather then it
being an MTU issue (http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19990924-DM06.htm).
We are according to yahoo, on their white list.

The problem it appears we are running in to it although this only occurs
intermittently, each time it happens, that SMTP process basically hangs for 4 minutes.
So we are winding up
with 90%+ of the SMTP processes waiting for 4 minutes which dramatically slows down
mail delivery performance and causing inbound message to hang in the queue for a few
hours before getting delivered.

A few questions:
1. Is this problem being caused by yahoo email servers? If so could they be doing this
to throttle back email delivery?
2. Would it be worthwhile to decrease the SMTP timeout? (see
http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-20020919-DM01.htm)
3. Any other suggestions on this problem?

Thanks!
Adam
