I use the built in filtering as well. However, the last couple of weeks, I've had an influx of spam not getting filtered. What are the blacklists that most of you are using?
Just so you are aware, be careful to realize that IMail uses groups of tests, so you'll see much different answers here than you will for other products. For example, you'll often see people refer to organizations (such as "dnsbl.njabl.org", which includes all 7 tests run by njabl.org), rather than the specific tests themselves. If you trust the people who are posting, you can just add the organizations as blacklists. But if you are unsure, or if you are adding tests yourself, you should get more details about the whole range of blacklists that the organization groups together, so you don't get stuck with a lot of false positives.
