If anyone is interested in seeing if they have any of these rogue JPEG files on their Windows boxes, I have a command line program at http://www.rscott.org/gdiplus/ that will search for them. By default, it checks every file regardless of extension, but there is a "/quick" option to just check .jpg/.jpeg/.gif/.png files, which can save a lot of time.
