Hi Scott,
This is a waste of your time and energy. Your customer base speaks for
itself.
As a happy customer of Declude Pro, AV and Junkmail with a current
support contract, consider your time is better spent doing what you do
best...supporting the product.
Thanks,
Andrew Baldwin

OK, you've pushed me far enough. I'll try to do this with as much
integrity as I can, without attacking you, while touching some of the key
issues.

Computerized Horizons has over 4 years experience in dealing with virus
detection.
Declude Virus is the leader in mailserver AV vulnerability detection.
We have our own virus lab, a network of computers that are not directly
connected to any other network, making it safe to "play" with viruses.
The
virus can't do any damage outside of the virus lab, yet the entire lab
can
easily be reconstructed.
Declude Virus is the only third-party virus scanner that integrates with
Ipswitch that is listed in the Ipswitch Knowledge Base.
We have over 300 test files that we use to test Declude Virus. This
includes an extraordinary number of variations of malformed E-mails that
need to be caught.
We wrote all our code, and do not rely on any third-party components
(such
as MIME decoders, TNEF decoders, DNS engines, etc.).
Every second of every day, dozens of viruses are blocked by Declude
Virus,
and thousands of spam tests are run by Declude JunkMail. Declude
products
are scanning E-mail for 100,000s of domains.
We have sold Declude Virus and Declude JunkMail to thousands of very
satisfied customers, in dozens of countries around the world. We have
sold
Declude Virus and Declude JunkMail to major web hosting companies and
ISPs,
well known colleges and universities, and numerous well known government
agencies.
We have a business model that has proven to work: prices that are lower
than almost all the competition, while high enough to ensure that our
support and development costs are covered (along with a healthy
profit). This model has been proven over more than 4 years, and there is
no need to worry that one day we'll need to stop development or stop
offering support because we can't afford it.
We believe in never offering a "copycat" product. We've been involved in
other industries where about 1/2 of the addons for a software product
were
nearly identical to others. Although there are lots of mailserver virus
scanners, ours was unique in that it was created for IMail (which had no
AV
support at the time), and used a novel approach (using standard AV
scanners).
Declude Virus and Declude JunkMail were the first mailserver virus/spam
scanners to offer a number of different features.
Declude products have been mentioned in a number of national computer
magazines.
We've had several competitors buy ads on Google using "Declude" as a
search
term (in violation of Google's TOS).

Those facts say a lot about our company and our product.
You can go ahead and say things like "having to purchase a service
agreement [for Declude Virus] to get the latest fix" (incorrect), "For an
additional, hefty fee" (incorrect), "you do not verify data that is
posted
to your web site" (incorrect), "I simply do not agree with the claim that
they are vulnerabilities" (an opinion, that it is OK for viruses to slip
through undetected), "You obviousely knew what I was talking about"
(incorrect), "Integrity and honesty" (implying that I am dishonest),
"your
insecurities started to role" (personal attack). If they are incorrect,
however, I may correct them. As I have done in the past with others.
You can say that our information is inaccurate, but unless you can say
*how* it is inaccurate, we cannot do anything about it (as I am not aware
of any inaccurate information, despite your repeated claims otherwise).
Sorry to continue this thread, but you pushed me to the point where I had
to go a bit deeper. Those facts about Declude are not meant to disparage
you; you are free to post anything positive about your product. However,
the point is that you're the new kid on the block, and you need to
understand your position. Honestly, I'm guessing the only way that you
can
offer your product at the price you do is by cutting corners. That,
however, is just my opinion (and is also subjective), so it could be
wrong
-- but you've pushed me to the point of saying my opinion.
The good news, though, is that I'm going to start treating you as someone
else on this forum who has a similar attitude. I'm going to do my best
not
to respond to anything further you say here, unless it is very important
that it be corrected.
