I am running Imail 8.05 HF3. I am having a problem with some mail delivery. I found where sender connected to the server and sent an email. Looking at the message ID file name. I am unable to locate where it was delivered to the recipient on the next day. Does this mean I have an Orphan file somewhere?
An orphan file is a "double bounce" (where the E-mail can't be delivered, or returned to the sender). There will be evidence of those in the IMail SMTP or SMTP- log file entries.
In your case, are you searching for the proper string? You need to search for the Q file name minus first character and extesion. So if the Q filename is Q1234567.SMD, then you would search for just "1234567".
Also, you should check any anti-spam or anti-virus log files (for that same string).
