What I wound up doing was adding the external public address as a second
IP  address  (with  the  smallest encompassing netmask). It accepts mail
addressed  to  [EMAIL PROTECTED] as well as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Its a kludge
but  it  works since nothing on the internal LAN is ever going to try to
get to that address.

I  suggested  adding  a  "TCP/IP  Address  Aliases"  to the Host screens
General  Tab  where  it  shows  the "Official Host Name" and the "TCP/IP
Address".  Sort  of  like  the "proxy_interfaces" setting in Postfix for
those of you who are familiar with that.
