The confusion about this topic seems to be on your end, Christian. We are fully aware of how you plan on continuing to develop Imail as a part of ICS. And if you did release twelve major upgrades per year, we'd maybe not be complaining as much, but you don't. We who have been using Imail for years know that you do NOT release twelve major upgrades per year, but only one at most. That means that most of the current Imail users will be stuck with their current version of Imail (or maybe another .1x release). This means that development for OUR version of Imail has all but stopped. This means that we can NOT look forward to things like SPF support or other new features, but only bugfixes.
You seem to be misunderstanding the point. The point is that you are bundling VERY EXPENSIVE products in with Imail that WE DO NOT WANT OR NEED! We still have not seen an explanation of WHY Imail will no longer be offered by itself at any price. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Christian Lawson Sent: Thursday, October 28, 2004 9:26 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Cross-grade concerns addressed (NEW SVC AGREEMENT PRICES) I think it's important to note that IMail has not been discontinued. It has not reached the end of its life; it is not 'dead'. We will still be developing IMail; mostly for ICS users, but even those without ICS who have a service agreement will be able to obtain these releases. The only thing we have discontinued is the ability to purchase IMail by itself. If we release twelve major upgrades to IMail between now and October 2005, people who purchase ICS will get them all, people who have an 'IMail-only' service agreement will get them all. There are no plans to stop supporting or working on IMail. I hope this clears up the confusion I've seen about this topic.
