To Ipswitch,

I'm wondering if Ipswitch may have been bought out and until all SA's have
expired they can't make anything public. I also as others have been
recommending Imail to several other companies because of its simple
functions but now will need to advise in other directions.

We are a small business and can't afford a 10x increase. I have used the
Phone support once in the years that I have used the Imail Server product
from ver.4 and now ver.8 and was pleased with the support that I got (but
had to wait on hold for 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to a tech).

What if Ipswitch came up with a support plan of:

1. Immediate $$$$$

2. Within 2 hours. $$$$

3. Within 4 hours. $$$

4. Next business day. $$

5. Email only. $

Most Software and Hardware companies had different Tier Levels of support,
and seem to make money and fill a niche for each and every size of business.
Some customers can pay more than others and would probably be willing to. I
don't understand though the need to eliminate at least 50% of their existing
customer base.

I agree...

I was only relating my impression of things because of the situation at hand
and how I found it interesting.

Well, think about it. As an employee you don't always necessarily agree
with decisions that are made by the company execs, but it's not like you can
relay your opinions or frustrations to the customer, so you tote the company
line, perhaps with a bit a frustration in your voice. ^^

I've talked to a couple of people at Ipswitch in the last couple of days and
what I've found interesting is that when they discuss this fiasco it's
almost as if there was someone behind them with a gun to their head. Tell
me I'm crazy, but I just felt like there were things they weren't saying
that they desperately wanted to say and were afraid to.
