Just got off the phone with Merak. They have what sounds like an absolutely seamless method of archiving all incoming/outgoing email (SOX compliance). Merak assured me they are fully SEC-compliant in all respects, which my client has to have.
Also I confirmed with them that, while I can purchase their anti-virus solution for extra money, I can also integrate F-Prot via their external a/v hook instead. This will provide less performance but I can evaluate that on an ongoing basis and decide whether I need their solution.
