My trust is already broken, but if it would save me time and money I might reconsider not evaluating the competition so I will need to know where we will be when our contract expires. The longer I need to think about it, the less chance there would be of me changing my mind it at all now. They have already angered me and broke their trust.

IPSwitch Joseph Mann: Thank you. I do not have need for such a highly bundled product at this time and will have to make my own business decisions. I appreciate that Ipswitch is trying to address a consolidation/change in the way we use the internet to communicate. I would like to have the option of buying a bundled product or not. I like Imail. It works for me. It works for my clients. Tech support has always come through for me on the FEW occasions I've had to use them. My hope is that Ipswitch will unbundle and make available Imail. It's ok to change your mind. I hope you do. Russ Russell A. IPSwitch What's up with the personal attacks! Being a previous Ipswitch employee, as some of you may recognize my name; I can personally attest that Ipswitch is not an evil company out to get every single one of you. Actually higher up Ipswitchee's are intelligent, educated, down to earth folks. I think what you may be seeing is that IMail is not as profitable as it once was. If this is the case, what do you do? Increase price, bundle other products together, who knows? It's very easy for us to judge not knowing all of the facts; we don't know what the ROI from an Ipswitch point of view is. Constructive disagreement is great, it's what builds innovation. Please, let's stop the personal attacks and get back to a professional level. IPSwitch This is exactly what needs to happen. We need to get this story out. It needs to be publicized so that Ipswitch sees that their reputation is going to suffer from this decision. We need to get it all over the internet so that whenever anyone searches for "Ipswitch ICS" they get the story of how Ipswitch abandoned its own customers to go after someone else's. As I see it, Ipswitch is just ignoring us while reading every single email to the list (isn't that right, Jill?). They're popping in now and then with sales pushes and with the occasional bit of spin, but it is obvious that they have chosen to ignore us. We on the list are probably a small portion of their customer base, and as long as we keep it on this list we aren't making them feel the consequences of their decision. This story needs to be public. Ipswitch, this means WAR! (well, at least WarFTP instead of WS-FTP Server) Post this story to any tech site you know! -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Larry Craddock Sent: Thursday, October 28, 2004 12:33 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [IMail Forum] Heads Up ... IPSwitch Anyone seen this? http://www.joelonsoftware.com/items/2004/10/26.html I'm thinking IPSwitch might want to reconsider their decision. Then again, what do I care? I've already decided to move to another product. I really don't care to rely on a company who would seriously consider, much less implement, a policy like this.
