Heck Novell even has a supported SUSE desktop now.

I prefer *BSD myself for servers.

I've managed to get a couple of RedHat boxes up and running in the past and played with them some and everything seemed to work. However I never did put any clients on it because I was always afraid that if it broke or got hacked I would not know enough to fix it or even save our clients files. Hence I decided to just leave it alone and take the path of least resistance, Windows.
I really should get off my backside and look into this. Someone mentioned SUSE as being something that I could find at Borders books bundled with a comprehensive manual that had everything I would need to know. Running everything via NIX would certainly be a way to cut operating costs and reduced hosting prices accordingly for NIX based hosting.

IMGate can be used with IMail now and technically it can be used with any back end mailbox server.
I personally dont' use it since I am very familiar with unix and I config my own postfix servers. However, it is my understanding that Len sends you all the config files so it is very straight forward and easy.

The big bonus is if you learn a bit about *nix you can eventually install your own mailbox server i.e. courier and then you pay NOTHING in software costs and you move up to the best of the best when it comes to MTAs.
