Can someone please clarify exactly what it means when it says "SMTPD32 will no longer accept <> as a valid recipient" in the release notes of the 8.14 patch? Does it mean that all emails that are sent to the server with <> as the recipient are rejected?
Yes.
Note that it sounds similar to but is very different from rejecting NULL senders (which must be accepted to conform to the RFCs). Ipswitch is referring to recipients -- there is no recipient of "<>", so it should not be accepted.
