I find it surprising that the remote server admins report no connections from
you. Their server answered your TCP connection with
"220 mailforward.freeparking.com ESMTP Exim 4.41 #1 Tue, 09 Nov 2004 11:22:20
-0500". I would expect _something_ in their logs.
But, perhaps they don't log information until it gets to a certain point in the
SMTP session. What I can tell you is that after
making the connection to their server, them sending you a banner and you
sending an EHLO statement, the network connection between
you and them dies. Considering the short interval at which this occurs (less
than a minute) this looks more like a 'cut' than a
timeout.

Perhaps they're intentionally denying connections from your IP or from
MUA/MTA's that send 'mail.washougal.k12.wa.us' in their
EHLO/HELO.

The 'trying PDT' is probably because you've got 'PDT' configured as your
gateway at 'localhost'. The purpose of this field is to
define an alternate server through which IMail should attempt to send email if
it cannot deliver it on its own.

Have a good one,
Christian

Subject: [IMail Forum] Mail server connections mysteriously dropping

I'm having trouble sending e-mail to several domains for some reason. I've
talked to the people on the receiving end, and they say
that their mail server isn't recording any connections in their server log at
all. Here is a snip from our server logs of a
transaction to one of the servers we're not able to send to.

We're able to send and receive normally to most other people, though, so I'm
not sure why these connections aren't going through.

Anyone have any ideas? I've applied all of the updates to iMail and we're at
version 8.13.
