I'm not sure why you'd want to do that. My .pst file is 1.1G, and I'd hate
to think how long it would take to search for something in a file that large
remotely. Out of the question. If I need to access my 1999 Sent Items from
the road, I just Terminal Services to my desktop and do a local (from
Outlook's point of view) search for whatever it is my adled brain can't
remember.

I found this to be a nightmare too. I went with your option #1. Then let
the users copy their mail to the server themselves if they wanted to.
Most mail was junk anyway and most users never even bothered to do it.
Saved a ton of space on the server. We had pst files that were well over
500MB.

any folders the user has locally to the Imail server. This seems to work ok,
but is very labor intenstive. I suspect migrating a couple of hundred users
in this manner would be a nightmare.

it my testing, it seems to "loose" the attachment association in emails it
transfers. This is kind of a deal killer.
