It isn't a sales pitch. Your AV software is broken (in other words, it can let viruses through -- and did).
The issue here isn't that the virus is new, and not yet detectable. The issue is that encrypted .ZIP files must be blocked by mailserver AV software. If not, viruses *will* get through. It is impossible for any mailserver program to detect 100% of known viruses within encrypted .ZIP files (there are exceptions, such as static encrypted .ZIP files or AI that can catch some viruses in encrypted .ZIP files, but any virus can get around those).
